About My Clients

I have a particular interest in working with adult survivors of child sexual abuse and incent. Still, I enjoy working with clients who are dealing with the daily struggles of life or working on their self-growth, as well as people who live and work in a foreign country and are experiencing issues with integration, identity, and cultural and language barriers.

My Background and Approach

Life experiences can shatter our world. It can leave us feeling angry, alone, broken, defeated, and sometimes even ashamed. When was the last time you felt like yourself? As a person-centered systemic therapist, I take a non-pathologizing approach when working with my clients. I will not see you as “sick” or “crazy,” but explore the systems/environment you are part of and how it contributes to the formation of the problem. I focus on your strengths, internal and external resources, values, and principles. With my gentle and collaborative approach, I can also help you uncover unhelpful patterns, beliefs, and feelings, understand how to improve your relationship with yourself and others and find new coping skills to live your most authentic and fulfilling life. In our work together, I hope you will experience me as a genuine person with a nonjudgmental attitude. I will work to create a trusting relationship that will provide a safe space where, I hope, you feel accepted and understood.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I have a strong belief in the positive nature of human beings. I believe in the uniqueness and worth of every individual and that everyone deserves respect to choose their direction and values in life. Living in several different countries has not been easy for me. I had to adapt to new cultures and norms, learn a new language, and face some cultural prejudice as a minority. At the same time, I am also aware of my privileges. I am a healthy, non-disabled white European, hold degrees from esteemed educational institutions, and am part of the military community. However, my cosmopolitan experience makes it easy for me to understand the negative thoughts and feelings of people living and working in a foreign country, such as issues with integration, identity, and cultural and language barriers. Everyone’s experiences are unique, and as a therapist, it is important to acknowledge and celebrate them while encouraging self-expression and authenticity.
