About My Clients
Sometimes life is just a lot. You balance so many things, trying to keep it all together, when at the end of the day, you feel like you just want to fall apart. The pressure to have it together, to be at your best all the time, is overwhelming. Therapy is a place to be fully you, to give a voice to the overwhelm you feel, and to feel seen and understood. Therapy is a place to talk about the ups and the downs, to learn more about who you are and how to manage all the emotions stirring up inside.
My Background and Approach
I bring a direct and engaging personality to the therapy room and clients often say that I have a way of "getting right into it". I use evidenced-based therapy techniques, mixed with a fun and connecting personality to help you feel engaged and seen in the therapy process. My degree is in Marriage & Family Therapy, and I have always been drawn to all things relational. Whether it is a relationship with your partner, your parent, your child, a friend, or even the relationship you have with yourself, I keep a relational lens at the center of the work I do with clients.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
At my core, I am an advocate. Any enneagram fans? I am an 8, through and through. It is my greatest joy to be a voice for those that often do not have one. I care way more about people knowing they are valued then I do about pleasing those around me. I am a foster parent and have an intense and often consuming passion for making sure that children know that they are an absolute treasure to our world. I believe that everyone can change, but that we need supports in order to do that. Therapy is just one of the many supports that help us move towards change, and it is a powerful and influential support. I love helping people take steps towards the change they are desiring to see in their lives and in their family.
