About My Clients
Feeling lost or stuck? Feeling overwhelmed with the decisions you have to make in your life, or the people in it? My goal is to be a support system for my client, walking along beside you through the issues you're dealing with in your life to be a nonjudgmental ear, a safe place to process and a mirror to hear your thoughts. I primarily provide services to kids ages 11-17 and young adults dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions and other mood related issues.
My Background and Approach
I graduated from UCF's Counselor Education program in 2009 and have been practicing as a licensed mental health counselor since 2015. I have a collaborative approach in helping my clients reach their goals, but I really enjoy cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy as an approach to helping clients make better sense of the world around them. I firmly believe that you know you better than I do - we'll work together to find the skills that work best in your life and your experiences, since coping skills are not one size fits all. I'd love for you to walk away from our sessions with tangible, usable skills that you can implement in your life when things get difficult and hard, and we'll fine tune them together. I fully believe in the mind and body connection as well, so we'll talk about how sleep, exercise and food also impact our mental health.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that science is real, Black Lives Matter and I'm an LGBTQ+ ally. I believe that we have an obligation as humans to take care of each other and do our part to leave our world better than when we found it. I believe that everyone can change and grow, and that this is an important part of our lives. We deserve the opportunity to have support in our lives. Let's talk - send me a message.
