About My Clients
Learning to become confident in your sexual expression is important for overall wellness. Trauma, conflict, and judgement can impact how we feel about our sexual selves and learning to overcome this is the work I do. I enjoy working with folks who would benefit from tools to help in their communication, play expression, growth and development, and sexual explorations. If you're trying to find out who you are sexually, regarding identity, gender, interests, etc, you're in the right place!
My Background and Approach
I have worked in the social service field for over 20 years, in many different areas. I started with military members and their families in family violence prevention and outreach. I also worked in advocacy for diverse ability populations, in the education and workforce systems. I worked with low socio-economic populations, to support the delivering of family and educational services for children under 5. I have most recently been working within an outpatient office to support pregnant women with their anxiety and depression, to strengthen the postpartum experience. I have also worked with children, adolescents, and adults to support their sexual identity, gender expression, self-esteem, social conflicts, and overall sexual health. Interventions don't have to be lengthy, just intentional, so I keep an open mind to meet the client where they are at and build skills in the areas of need. I use humor often and try to keep the atmosphere as supportive and productive as possible.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have been working with more clients in their sexual health and development over the last year and this is where my specialty focus is. I believe strongly in a sex positive environment, which allows the client to have a judgement-free zone to explore their interests and development of the sexual self. I believe strongly in the LGBTQ+ community and am a member myself. I am an active member of social justice events and missions within our community and world at large. I believe in a healthy development of the sexual self and expression for all people. I also believe in sexual education reform to be more comprehensive and inclusive regarding consent, pleasure, and healthy relationship dynamics.
