About My Clients

Do you find yourself feeling on edge, overthinking or planning for situations that have not or may not even happen? Having trouble with change? Harsh self inner critic holding you back? Or maybe your past unprocessed trauma is showing up in new ways? I know what it feels like to be at war with your mind, it can feel like there is no escape or "turn off" button. I can show you how trauma informed therapy and Neurofeedback can retrain your brain out of unhealthy or negative thought patterns.

My Background and Approach

I like to collaborate with my clients on their goals for therapy and utilize various tools from a trauma focused lens to assist. My specialties include helping clients with anxiety, ADHD, depression, autism, mood disorders, self esteem, trauma related disorders, and life transitions. I have an open minded, trauma focused approach with experience in high trauma settings and a deep understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and how they can impact an individual and their mental and physical health across the lifespan. I have experience working with children, teens, adults, and families in foster care and in transitional housing programs. I also have experience working with children and families impacted by domestic violence, physical and sexual abuse, and neglect. My ultimate goal is to build upon the strengths you already have and to help you better understand yourself and your mental health while achieving your goals.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that everything we do has a ripple effect of some sort. No matter how big or how small, something will be manipulated. Given the essential tools, I believe you can retrain your brain to get back to healthy thinking patterns and positive thought processes in areas that have been overshadowed by darkness. During my undergraduate career I was diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety, but through education on my own diagnoses and addressing and speaking more openly about my mental health with providers and friends and family, I was able to address unhealthy thinking patterns head on. I want to help other people take charge of their own mental health and give them the tools to help them feel secure, safe, and at peace as I did for myself. In my spare time, I love to travel and listen to live music and go to shows. You can also count on me to ask to pet any dog in range, given the opportunity. Send me a message if you would like to chat more on how I can help you.
