Amy Sedgwick (She/hers)

I’m a Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor with specialty certifications in problem gambling and co-occurring disorders. I specialize in treating addictions and co-occurring disorders. I’m trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). I find that these modalities in tandem work best to treat our beliefs about ourselves and the world we live in, while processing and reframing them to meet our preferred views. I believe our minds and bodies have the capacity to heal and these modalities are simply the catalyst. I specialize in treating families impacted by addiction and strive to help them establish a healthy system of loving while not allowing the disease to consume. Another true passion is working with first responders. I’m trained in First Responder culture and prolonged stress often resulting in substance misuse.

Much of my own experience has led me toward my career goals. As an ACOA, I have a natural drive to support others to achieve a healthy balance in their lives, fully understanding the damage addiction causes. I found ALANON to be immensely helpful and fully support this organization. As the wife of a first responder, I also know first hand the toll that this work takes on an individual. I am an EAP provider for uniformed professionals as a means to lessen the gap for needed services.
