About My Clients

My clients are trauma survivors who are ready to move on from the crippling anxiety and debilitating depression that typically results from living with a survivor's mentality. My clients are ready to understand what happened to them by connecting that past trauma and giving language to the feelings they were avoiding for too long because it was too painful or scary to take on.

My Background and Approach

Hi, I’m Sonia, a trauma survivor. I no longer feel like a victim, and I believe I can help you find your own path to healing and resolution. Today, I’m thriving and living a good, full, love-filled, super challenging (in a good way) life. I continue to do the work to heal my pain because I know that it’s a life-long process. I’ve learned some things that can be beneficial to you on your own healing journey. I’ve dealt with my own deep pain, and I’m not afraid of yours. I’ll hold space for you to explore your feelings without fear of judgment. I will focus on establishing rapport, trust, alliance, and attunement with you. My primary goal is for you to feel safe enough to tell your truth. Then we can start to unravel what happened and how you were impacted. If you’re ready to take control over your life, get to the root of your trauma, and break free from your inner limits, I’d love to help you on your healing journey.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Trauma survivors think 10 steps ahead, are master jugglers and multi-taskers, who are often so busy meeting the needs of others, they only become aware of their own needs when they are suffering from extreme burn out, depression, anxiety, or chronic illness. The amygdala in trauma survivors is turned ON and FIRING almost all the time, which makes most decisions and/or actions come from fight, flight, freeze or appease. As a result, survivors are left feeling upset, depleted and regretful, wishing they could've made a different choice, or acted differently. Through therapy, there is opportunity to unravel past trauma and bring understanding to what happened. When we understand, we can connect with those feelings and give the experience language. When we talk about it and process it, the trauma lessens its grip on us. From there, we can learn how to manage triggers and develop better coping skills.
