About My Clients
You’re tired of being mean to yourself. You’re tired of having your emotions control you. You want to feel happy and fulfilled again, or maybe for the first time ever. It may not seem like it right now - but I want you to know that you have so much strength and courage for even having these thoughts. You are resilient, and I am here to walk with you as you rediscover that part of yourself.
My Background and Approach
I believe that every individual has the ability to achieve their goals and be the best version of themselves - including you. I support individuals and couples navigating unhappy or toxic relationships with their partners, family, friends, or themselves. I specialize in helping individuals, couples, and families break free of their anxieties and insecurities to live more confident, connected lives. My approach entails meeting my clients as they are and accepting them fully where they are in their unique journeys. I utilize family of origin work to help clients connect to their roots and build a stronger understanding of their values and behaviors. I pull from the practices of Adlerian theory which is rooted in the idea that all individuals have a desire for significance and belonging. I believe you are the expert on your own life - my role is to provide objective reflections and open-ended questions to help you delve deeper into your understanding of yourself and your unique worldview.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe all individuals have unique and diverse lived experiences based on the intersectionality of their various social identities. I believe that unhealthy habits are coping skills - ones that worked for us for a long time and do not work for us now. Recognizing that you no longer want to continue an unhealthy habit is the first step in changing it. I believe growth and healing happen at the intersection of discomfort and vulnerability and that my role is to create a safe, empathetic, nonjudgmental space for your healing process. I work with individuals from various faith and non-faith backgrounds. Your unique background and story is important to me. Navigating the counseling process can feel daunting and overwhelming. I invite you to connect with me by email, text, or phone call to ask any and all questions you may have about the therapeutic process. I am here to support you!
