About My Clients
If you're not getting enough sleep, you may find it difficult to focus, to be creative, and to make decisions. You may also be more likely to experience anxiety, depression, and other mental health problems. The good news is that there are things you can do to improve your sleep. Therapy can be a helpful tool for addressing the underlying causes of sleep problems and for developing healthy sleep and rest habits. Therapy can also help you to reconnect with your creativity.
My Background and Approach
I have a deep understanding of the creative process and the challenges that creatives and artists face. I can help you develop healthy sleep habits and manage stress so that you can get the rest you need to be your best creative self. I offer a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. I work collaboratively with my clients to develop individualized treatment plans. In the first few sessions, we will determine what you need in the therapy process by setting goals. If you are needing to improve your sleep and rest habits, I will use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) and Dance/Movement Therapy (DMT). If you are needing to increase your self awareness and coping skills, I use Dance/Movement Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, and Action and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I will use a variety of techniques with you to work towards your goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My mission is to empower people towards harnessing their feelings (emotive) into meaningful action (motive) in order to live more fulfilling lives. I value kindness, consideration, integrity, equity, diversity, and inclusion. I believe in advocating for underprivileged and underserved populations. I am in support of the Black Lives Matter Movement, the LGBTQIA+ community and others.
