About My Clients
What I hear from the people I work with is that after they start sleeping better, they can manage their stress more easily. It is rewarding when someone says at the end of their session that they feel more calm because they were heard and understood. In addition, people are usually thankful for being given an alternative way to deal with a problem. They are also able to name at least one helpful insight or skill that they have learned.
My Background and Approach
Along with traditional talk therapies, I use movement and body-based somatic practices as a tool for information and as a way to shift thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Collaboratively, we will work together to set goals and practice ways to achieve them in session. This will set you up for success both in and out of therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My mission is to empower people towards harnessing their feelings (emotive) into meaningful action (motive) in order to live more fulfilling lives. I value kindness, consideration, integrity, equity, diversity, and inclusion. I believe in advocating for underprivileged and underserved populations. I am in support of the Black Lives Matter Movement, the LGBTQIA+ community and others.
