About My Clients
The last thing you want is to feel stuck in your career. Yet here you are. You spend your workdays on edge and your evenings too burnt out to do the things you love. You fantasize about changing your life, but then the anxiety takes over. What if I make the wrong decision? What if I wake up in 20 years and realize I wasted my life feeling this way? That does NOT have to be your reality. It is possible for you to have a fulfilling, supportive work life and I'd be honored to help you get there.
My Background and Approach
I blend my extensive training in CBT and career development with humor and warmth. In our first few sessions, we will create a specific, personalized action plan that will determine the course of our work together and ensure we're working towards what's most important to you. If you are making a career transition, that plan may include completing career assessments, learning job search strategies, and improving your resume and LinkedIn. If you are dealing with work stress or anxiety, we'll identify the specific situations, thoughts, and stressors that are fueling the anxiety, and the behaviors that reinforce it. I'll teach you some specific stress reduction techniques for immediate relief. Then, you'll begin trying out new ways of thinking and acting to reduce the anxiety and manage the stress longer-term. Between sessions, I will always give you something to reflect on or practice so that you can get the most out of therapy and incorporate positive changes into your daily life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm committed to this work because I want to live in a world where women are equipped and empowered to thrive in their careers. Women face unique challenges in the workplace and often haven't been given quality career guidance compared to their male peers. Embedded systems of oppression (misogyny, racism, homophobia, transphobia) have a huge impact on women's careers. I have seen way too many brilliant women lose their spark because they weren't given the tools they need to succeed at work and were giving their everything to a career that isn't giving them anything back. I believe that with intention, effort, and openness to change, anyone can have a healthy relationship with work and a career that fulfills them. I worked in the corporate world before making my own career transition to counseling. I know firsthand how frustrating it is to feel stuck in your career, how scary it can be to make a change, and how wonderful it is on the other side. Curious if I can help you? Let's talk!
