About My Clients

Navigating sadness, fear, or overwhelming emotions can feel uncomfortable or unbearable. Perhaps you're noticing patterns in your relationships, with yourself or others, and you're curious if change is possible. You may wonder what it could be like to feel more grounded as you navigate the ups and downs of life. A part of you wants to feel whole and safe in every aspect of your being. Know that you're not alone and there is a path forward.

My Background and Approach

My role is to work alongside you as a collaborative guide as you learn to identify and trust your internal wisdom; you are the expert in you. Together, we explore what parts may be causing issues and become curious about how that part is helpful and unhelpful. As awareness grows around what's causing the issue, the ability to change or shift often unfolds. In sessions, I incorporate compassion, curiosity, creativity, mindfulness, and, at times, humor. As a student counselor at Idaho State University, I am trauma-informed and have experience in mindfulness-based stress reduction techniques.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

In our culture, I recognize I hold many identities of privilege. As a result, I firmly believe it is my responsibility to continually educate myself about intersecting cultural identities, including gender, sexuality, affectional orientation, race, ethnicity, and religion. In my experience, this can be uncomfortable, and sometimes I get it wrong. However, I am committed to being an empathetic fellow human by working through my biases. Even though I am a student counselor, I have years of experience working alongside people and teams as they cultivate and reach their goals. I identify as a highly sensitive person (HSP), which helps me tune into emotions and identify patterns. Away from school and counseling, I love being near trees and water.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
