I am a volunteer supervisor at the Southern California Counseling Center (www.sccc-la.org), which is a community mental health center that provides low-cost talk therapy for people in the community. I am very proud of the work that we do at SCCC, because we serve people who are often overlooked by the mental health profession.
I understand that, as a highly privileged cisgender, straight, white man, people may be wary about whether they are safe in my office. I want to be very open and say that everyone is welcome and accepted in my office, and that I'm not secretive or evasive about stating my beliefs and policies with regards to accepting others. People need to know my stances on these things in order to assess their safety. So if you have questions about my personal beliefs, please do not hesitate to ask me.
