About My Clients
I provide individual counseling to youth ages 12-17 and adults ages 18-64. I maintain a strengths-based and client-centered approach to counseling. I believe all individuals have the innate skills and resources within them to overcome life’s challenges; sometimes we all need a little support in harnessing our inner strengths and abilities. I am currently a practicing middle school counselor so I understand how to navigate the education system, as well as the unique issues teens face these days.
My Background and Approach
I provide a strengths-based and client-centered approach to counseling. I believe all individuals have the innate skills and resources within them to overcome life’s challenges; sometimes we all need a little support in harnessing our inner strengths and abilities. I maintain a firm belief that environmental and systemic barriers also provide a challenge to mental health and well being. Issues including systemic racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, classism, ableism, ageism, and xenophobia all plague our society. While these issues impact all of us, they disproportionately and more deeply impact individuals and communities who maintain minority identities. As a provider, I understand that you are the expert on yourself and that you already possess some expertise in managing whatever challenges brought you to counseling. I take a collaborative approach in working with you to establish and work toward your goals.
