About My Clients
The clients I serve typically have difficulty regulating their emotions and/or have life threatening urges. Usually this comes with difficulties managing relationships as well. With the approach DBT takes, we will help you navigate such relationships and teach you ways to make your emotions more tolerable so that it does not get in the way of the life you would like to live.
My Background and Approach
I help my clients challenge themselves to develop a more meaningful life while helping them get out of that "stuck" feeling. The type of therapy I offer is Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), where we will explore different ways to regulate emotions, tolerate distressing events, mindfulness, and improving interpersonal relationships. We will find solutions for the difficulties that are creating a barrier in your life. DBT is an evidence based therapy that is proven by research to help you gain relief from distressing emotions, suicidal and self harming urges. Our goal is to help you remain out of a hospital setting with our intensive program while learning how to manage high risk urges such as suicidality and self harm urges. DBT stands for Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
