I have spent the last two years working solely with people living with HIV/AIDs. This gives me special insight into the impact chronic pain and illness can have on daily functioning and the nuisances of moving through the world while navigating the stigma of diagnosis.

I have advanced training in motivational interviewing and other addictions treatment techniques in order to help you achieve your sobriety goals. I practice from a harm reduction- rather than abstinence only- model.

I have spent the majority of my time as a therapist working within the LGBT community. I work from an LGBT affirming model that notes your identity is valid and unproblematic. Any and all distress from the identity comes from the stigma and pressure from the world around you in a systemic way.

Existentialism values a client's capacity for self-awareness, client's needs for freedom and responsibility, focuses on creating one’s identity and establishing meaningful relationships with others, navigates the search for meaning, purpose, values, and goals, notes that anxiety is a condition of living, ponders awareness of death and nonbeing.

Emotionally Focused Therapy allows us to work on identifying and sitting with feelings non-judgmentally and focus on learning coping skills to self soothe. We learn that sometimes we are incapable of changing a circumstance, but we are able to learn how to move with or through the feelings that come up.

Dialectal Behavioral Therapy focuses on teaching skills in areas of mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional control, and interpersonal relations to help client's manage their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors most successfully.
