Just like any other group, the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) community faces mental health issues and unique challenges. However, LGBTQ individuals are almost 3 times more likely than others to experience a mental health condition, such as depression or anxiety. Additionally, more than half of individuals who identify as transgender experience depression or anxiety. The LGBTQ community is also at a higher risk for suicide. Young people are even more at risk, as they may experience a lack of support at home and fear, hatred or prejudice in school. If you are a member of the LGBTQ community and are facing mental health challenges, you don’t have to suffer in silence. Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s LGBTQ experts and get help today.

Most couples begin therapy with me because they feel stuck in unhelpful patterns of communicating, they struggle to feel understood or supported in their relationship, and they want to navigate conflict and challenging emotions with greater ease. I support queer, gender expansive, kinky, and polyamorous and non-monogamous couples. I also specialize in working with stepparents and parents who are navigating a non-nuclear family structure.
Are you stuck in a cycle of thought patterns or behaviors that are harming your well-being? Do you feel anxious, ashamed, disconnected, or depressed, and wish you could break away from these patterns? Do you find yourself daydreaming about what life would be like if you weren’t so caught up in this struggle? Many people are struggling to manage their relationships, careers, and lives during these uncertain times. You are not alone, and I am here to help.

I typically work with clients who are interested in understanding the root of their struggles rather than simply managing their symptoms. After training in a variety of different geographic locations, I have extensive experience working with clients from a variety of international and multicultural backgrounds. I also see clients who have different sexual orientations, gender identities, and sexual practices (kink).
