About My Clients
My clinical focus mirrors my lived experience as a nonbinary (masculine), pansexual individual (he/they) who identifies as a member of LGBTQ+ community, has been in ethically non-monogamous, open relationships, and who has multicultural and multiethnic roots (Latiné and North African). I enjoy working with adult (18+ years old) men who are exploring their gender, sexuality, and relationships, members of the LGBTQ+ and kink communities, and survivors of sexual trauma and domestic violence.
My Background and Approach
I identify as a trauma therapist, first and foremost. I have been extensively trained in trauma-informed modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, The Flash Technique, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Slaying the Dragon Framework. Additionally, as a licensed substance abuse counselor, I am also trained in substance use treatment-oriented modalities such as Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SBFT), SMART Goal Treatment Planning, and 12-Step Models. I also work as a sex therapist providing psychoeducation and therapy to clients for issues related to sex-positive exploration of sexuality, relationship style, relationship structure, and kinks and fetishes. I aim to help clients in accepting and loving the parts of themselves that they have disowned or hidden throughout their lifespan due to negative influences from their families of origin, peers, and society.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Let's face it. . . .counseling and therapy are SCARY. However, if you are on Psychology Today or TherapyDen or any other therapy platform looking for a therapist, something inside of you has clicked and is asking (perhaps, begging) for deeper reflection and healing. Whether it is someone else or myself who you choose as a therapist, I believe you should honor your journey at your own pace and always trust that YOU know what is best for YOU. I believe you already know what you need and I am happy to be that mirror that reflects it back to you.
