About My Clients

My clients are adults (18+) looking to initiate, adjust to, or navigate major life transitions. My clients are both looking to process their experiences and be validated in them while also being willing to learn and implement various skills to help move life in a better direction. I support clients going through breakups, changes in family and/or friendships, loss of a loved one, job and/or school changes, moving to a new city, or a change in health diagnoses.

My Background and Approach

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor/ Clinical Professional Counselor / Professional Counselor, and graduated with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. I live in New York City and run my own virtual private practice, Rebekah Lipsky Mental Health Counseling, PLLC, providing telehealth therapy to residents of New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Florida. I specialize in helping clients through major life transitions. I consider myself an integrative therapist, pulling techniques from various interventions as they best pertain to what each client needs, however I am most oriented in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. I provide a trusting, safe, and comfortable therapeutic space and value the therapeutic alliance as the most important part of treatment. I am here to work for and with you in your best interest!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I whole heartedly believe that we all have the power to better our lives, and I am so fulfilled that I get to unlock that power with clients and teach them how to use it. Therapy is not a one-size fits all service, and I believe that it is so important for each individual client to be seen in the context of their own lives by their therapist. I deeply value the importance of the therapeutic relationship and the importance of trust, safety, and comfort within the therapy space in order for progress to effectively be made. I am an ally to the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. For several years, I specifically worked with neurodivergent clients and remain a neurodivergent affirming therapist. Some of my personal interests include dancing, exercising, spending time with my dog, nurturing the important relationships in my life, watching TV and movies, listening to music, reading, eating yummy foods, traveling, and engaging in self-care!
