About My Clients
I work with clients who may be struggling with the present due to their past experiences. During our initial sessions, we work on building trust in a safe environment. A treatment plan is developed in order for you to have a direction or goal in your therapy. Over the course of your treatment, we work towards your completion of goals and improving your current functioning.
My Background and Approach
I believe that people and the lives that they have led are multi-faceted. I practice a holistic approach to counseling integrating evidenced based practices with the mind, body and spirit. I have a special interest in working with those struggling with trauma, substance abuse, grief/loss, and assisting in the process of healing. I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which is an effective evidence-based practice for the treatment of trauma and other mental health diagnoses.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal beliefs are that people want to be validated, respected and have a sense of belonging. Working with underserved and marginalized populations, they tend to get lost and would benefit from someone in mental health counseling helping them find meaning and purpose in life. I also believe that a counselor should meet you without prejudice and support the client in finding their path.
