About My Clients

You wake up and check your body in the mirror to see if it's a good day or a bad day. Maybe you step on the scale and hate what you see, vowing that you'll be good today. You go through the day trying to eat as little as possible while pushing yourself to exercise until exhaustion. You feel self-conscious in your clothes, hungry almost all the time, and exhausted overall. Sometimes (often?) you find yourself bingeing and hating yourself. You want the cycle to end. You're in the right place.

My Background and Approach

I specialize in helping millennials to break out of painful cycles with food and exercise. I want to help you to build a better relationship with your body and stop thinking about food all day every day. I want you to think about your relationships, your passions, your goal, and what actually matters to you instead! I use cutting-edge therapies proven by science to help you understand why you eat the way you do, connect to your body without hatred and criticism, and find a healthy routine that feels like care, not punishment. Therapy with me is engaging, dynamic, and creative. We might create art, listen to music, heal trauma wounds, or eat together. Clients often comment that therapy with me is different than therapy they've had before - I'm quick to tell a joke and have a generous sense of humor, but I can keep it real and get into the heavy stuff too. I don't want therapy to be painful or awkward - I want it to be engaging, real, helpful, and sometime you look forward to.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that investing all your time and energy into making your body smaller takes away energy from other things that probably matter to you more. I believe that your body is your window to the world and that it is always ready to welcome you back. I believe that a genuine connection to your body is your birthright. I believe in laughter as medicine and movement as joyous. I believe that the world we live in is starting to change and I want my work to be a part of that. I believe that queerness has been a part of humanity since the beginning. I believe that trans folks are truthtellers. I believe that sex work is work that deserves respect. I believe that relationship constellations outside of traditional monogamy are valid and more normal than most realize. I believe that all humans deserve respect, agency, compassion, and support. In my work with painful relationships with food and body image I believe that your body is not who you are - it's where *you* live.
