About My Clients
I am passionate about working with children, adults and families. I have extensive experience in treating mental health conditions in childhood, problem solving school and home issues and coaching parents. There is hope and talking it out can unravel what is complex and set a clear direction for your future.
My Background and Approach
I would like to share with you a little about myself, my skills and experience and let you know how I can be of help to you. I live in suburban Chicago with my husband and two children. I love working and raising my children here. We originally came here after living in California and decided to stay! I completed my Social Work graduate studies at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where I specialized on school social work. I have a pupil personnel credential 73 to work in Illinois public schools K-12. I have worked in schools, hospital and outpatient mental health settings. I hold a certificate in Autism Studies from the University of California Davis, I studied Play Therapy at the University of California San Diego and completed trainings to become a Social Thinking certified interventionist for clients with ASD, OCD, ADHD, Social Anxiety and Panic Disorders.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My goal for therapy is always that you will no longer need to come to see me because you will become confident in dealing with life stresses by yourself. I like to work collaboratively with individuals and families. Yes, I have a lot of training and experience working with a wide range of problems, but you know yourself better than anyone. We work together to help you find the best tools and skills to help you develop the confidence to bring about positive changes for yourself.
