About My Clients
I work with adult individuals and help with an array of mental health concerns including but not limited to: depression, anxiety, stress management, mood disorders, trauma etc... I strive to create an atmosphere that is accepting, inclusive, and goal orientated to help you reach your goals no matter where your starting point is.
My Background and Approach
I have seen a lot working in community mental health for the last decade and have held various roles within that system. The role I am most proud of had been collaborating with doctors and medical staff to understand health needs of vulnerable or high care patients. I have specialty training in trauma as a Certified Clinical Trauma therapist and Emotional Freedoms Techniques, AKA Tapping. I have training in substance use, specifically, Cognitive Behavioral Interventions for Substance abuse (CBISA). My latest endeavor has been growing my knowledge through the yogic practice and mindfulness. I like talking with clients about their values and belief systems and working with them to find what is most helpful in their life. I use a strength based and positive approaches; therapy can be hard work but I want everyone to be able to enjoy their experience too.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It can take work and lots of practice to find the key to balance in your life. I personally find my balance through movement like walking, running, hiking, biking, and yoga. I enjoy traveling with my husband and taking time to enjoying the little things. I also focus on maintaining my health through the Ketogenic lifestyle which has helped me change the way I think about nutrition and mental health.
