Hi, my name is Aaron and I love meeting new people, helping understand their issues, and guiding them toward achieving their goals.

IFS is an approach for dealing with the different parts of ourselves that may have become damaged as a result of childhood trauma or relational injury (such as divorce). It is helpful in quickly identifying the source of our anxiety/fear or destructive behavior, then working toward effectively resolving the internal conflict so that we can operate from a healthier, more whole personhood.
Our ability to connect with others in intimate relationships derives from our attachment with our primary caregiver as children. Understanding this can build awareness to help clients become unstuck and work towards repairing those damaged attachments in order to have healthier connections in relationships.
I utilize CBT to look at thoughts and beliefs that may be causing distress, then help clients see their distorted patterns and how to challenge/replace them with healthier and more realistic ones.
I have taught groups and counseling many people on this issue, and regularly utilize Melodie Beattie's resources (among others) in guiding people into a personal understanding of what it is, how it manifests itself in their lives, where it comes from, and how to begin changing it.
I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with understanding of neurobiology of trauma, as well as effective techniques for treating it based on current research.
I hold a Master's degree in Marriage & Family Therapy and am passionate about helping couples work out their issues to develop healthier, happier relationships.
