About My Clients

Why me? It’s hard! It’s unfair. It’s not your fault and you can’t change it. How do you move forward, re-learning everything you used to know? Guilt and Shame are heavy, maybe you feel like a burden friends and family. It makes sense why envy and resentment come up with people who just don’t get it. Rehab facilities, Physical Therapist, The list goes on and on. You angrily ask yourself, can I even get into the building? Loneliness and isolation can start to creep in, but there is a light.

My Background and Approach

I sustained a spinal cord injury at the age of 16. At the time I was not able to work with anyone that had personal experience with this type of life change. It felt isolating to figure out how to manage the thoughts, feelings and emotions I was experiencing. My goal is to give those with disabilities a place to process those thoughts that you may not feel comfortable doing with family and friends. With that said, I also enjoy working with college students, those managing life transitions, grief loss and depression/anxiety. I am direct, but also have an understand of the need for empathetic listening along with support and guidance. I have an eclectic feel of sitting with vulnerability, building skill sets, mindfulness and solution focused. I use cheesy metaphors to break situations and events down and look at from different perspectives. This is your therapy, you are the driver, I am there to guide and support with feedback to help you not feel alone on the road of your choice.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

In my personal life I am sassy and like to think that I am witty. I believe that we all have struggles and that we can use support and encouragement from others. I have a background of inpatient crisis work which I loved, but felt it was time for change. I absolutely love live music. It does not matter if it is a local gig, concert or several day festival. Small talk leads to therapeutic breakthroughs. Therapy is yours, you are the driver, I am a passenger helping support and guide. Some days you need to change the car you are in, and others you need to change the road or direction.
