I work with clients who may be struggling with feelings of guilt, shame, resentment, burnout, anxiety, "stuck-ness" or ambivalence, not being enough/good enough, or vulnerability. In addition, I enjoy working with teens and adults on issues related to perfectionism, people-pleasing, codependency, relationship dynamics, sports performance, and sports injury.
You have done life alone and without the support that you need. The loneliness has crept in and taken over. You really want to heal but everything you have tried doesn't work. It's finally time to heal in ways you have been searching for. We are passionate about bringing excellent care to each client that steps in the therapy room so you finally have the support you've been needing. We are here.
I enjoy working with kids (10+) and teen girls dealing with anxiety, past trauma, sports performance, friendship problems, family conflict, big transitions, perfectionistic tendencies, and managing big emotions. The clients I support are goal-driven and hard-working but are often struggling on the inside. My goal is to assist clients in challenging times by helping them develop the skills and mindsets to reach their full potential.
My passion as a therapist is working with preteens, adolescents, and adults to develop strategies and the skills to make sustainable progress toward living a full and rewarding life. I am also well-suited to work with clients who are transitioning back into their home and community following hospitalization and/or longer-term care for psychiatric stabilization. My clients describe me as warm, nonjudgmental, relatable, and unafraid to help them grapple with the most difficult of topics.
Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

Have you ever had a piece of clothing get caught on a handle of any kind and you all of a sudden turn into the hulk trying to rip the door off? We've all been there! If you are in a constant state of feeling overwhelmed, anxious and depleted; like one more thing could make you explode, you've found the right place. Clients leave my office feeling empowered in their ability to self regulate, conquer their anxieties and effectively communicate their feelings and needs.
At Newport Academy, we address the root causes of self-destructive behaviors, not just the symptoms. We guide teens and their families to achieve long-term, sustainable healing by treating the underlying issues—such as trauma, depression, and anxiety—that catalyze substance abuse, eating disorders, and other co-occurring disorders. Incorporating clinical, experiential, and holistic modalities, our gender-specific treatment is family-focused and results-oriented.
Do you feel like you’re going through the motions? Do you appear to be doing well from the outside, but internally you feel overwhelmed, depressed, and disconnected from yourself and others? Do you feel like something has to change, but you aren't sure where to start? Do you numb your emotions with unhealthy behaviors or mindless distractions because it feels easier in the moment, and something about listening to yourself feels unnerving? If so, therapy can help, and I’d love to work with you.
Currently, my practice focuses on anxiety, depression, relationships, school stress, trauma, disordered eating, and other health concerns (e.g., sleep problems, adjusting to medical diagnoses, etc.). I also have specialized training and experience in treating substance abuse. I see teens as well as adults.
As the owner of Resiliency Therapy Services, helping clients find their inner resiliency is my passion. I work with clients ages adolescent through adulthood. Regardless of age, identity or presenting problem, I support clients in adjusting to life after emotional upset, significant change, or trauma. This might include grief counseling (including acute or chronic illness) or addressing depression and anxiety. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and believe that all people can live authentically.

When my clients come to me, they're tired of trying to appear like they've got it together. They feel like they've lost themselves in the daily hustle and trying to get everything "right." They confess they feel resentful and don't know how to prioritize their mental health. They are exhausted from racing thoughts that plague them day and night, and they are experts at analyzing all the "what-if's" that could go wrong. They are the epitome of the "this is fine" meme.
You're the expert on your life and goals—it’s my job to provide the help, insight, and encouragement you need to get there. I work with clients to identify the negative thought patterns and the underlying beliefs causing difficult emotional experiences such as anxiety or depression, replacing them with more adaptive and functional thoughts and coping skills. I love working with individuals who are ready to dive in and see change in this way.
We can often find ourselves feeling as though others just don't "get it." We can get caught up in the "why" when bad things happen to us. Do people often call you strong or resilient? Were you an "old spirit" as a kid or wise beyond your years? Trauma is unfair, it steals, breaks, and leaves a trail of hurt. Trauma can change us to our core and it's absolutely worth talking about. You deserve to feel the release of past horrible events following you around.
Anxiety and depression can cloud our judgment, closing us off from ourselves and others. We may feel paralyzed, unable to move forward with goals, continually engaging in self-destructive patterns of thoughts and behavior. Perhaps you have achieved some goals, yet still feel empty and “not good enough.” Maybe you’re going through a life transition, such as becoming a new parent, dealing with illness, grieving a loss, or confronting a previous trauma. You don’t have to face it alone.
