About My Clients
I have a passion doing solution focused therapy to help people gain more control over the situations or environments that cause them stress or unhappiness. I have experience working with teens, adults, and older adults utilizing interventions from cognitive behavioral therapy, strength-based approaches, and mindfulness practices.
My Background and Approach
Welcome. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) at Foresight. I received my Master's Degree in Social Work with a clinical emphasis from Fordham University in NYC, NY. I have experience working with all age groups. I spent 18 years working with an alternative school setting in CT and it was there that I helped adolescents become more successful with managing social emotional issues so they could be available to learn. I developed an animal assisted therapy program and volunteered with the state of Connecticut Critical Incident Stress Management team. I approach therapy from a trauma-informed, client-centered perspective: focusing on genuineness, empathy, and helping clients connect their thoughts, feelings, and actions. I aim to highlight strengths and help identify and create opportunities for personal growth.
