About My Clients

Past wounds are haunting you and you feel like you can no longer hide them away. It feels as if the past defines your present and your future. On the surface, you seem fine. You're getting by. In fact, you're everyone's go to person because you don't miss a beat. Underneath the thin facade is a mess of confusing emotions: shame, sorrow, anger, and many more emotions all muddled together. You're still reading at this time because something tells you it's time to get your life back.

My Background and Approach

Whether it’s depression, anxiety, trauma, or embracing your identity as a highly sensitive person, I will help you learn about what is impacting you. The better you understand it, the better you will understand yourself. The better you understand yourself, the more grace and compassion you will have for yourself. I most commonly use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Ego States therapy, in my practice. I invite you to visit my website to learn more about each approach. I graduated with my master's in Social Work from Colorado State University in 2012. I have over 14 years of experience in the mental health field and have practiced psychotherapy for five years. I am certified in EMDR. This means that I practice EMDR at more advanced level than your typical EMDR therapist. I also have completed specialized training in working with highly sensitive people.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I didn’t start out doing traditional methods of therapy. My background prior to starting my own practice was largely in forensic settings. I have worked in correctional facilities, victim services, child welfare and more. To sum it up, these experiences have helped me to understand human suffering intimately. I cherish these experiences and hold them very dear to my heart. My own healing journey and self-identification as a highly sensitive person led me to the way I practice now. I strongly believe that good mental health begins with good self-care from personal experience. This is why I will place emphasis on self-care and lifestyle consistently through our sessions. When I'm not in my role as a therapist, I'm cooking up a storm in the kitchen, exploring all sorts of new recipes. I'm always looking for new and exciting experiences, whether it's a new place, food, book, documentary, or learning new information. I'm a mom to both humans and fur babies.
