About My Clients
I have a passion for those that have survived or are currently enduring traumatic life events. I serve those who are tired of feeling codependent, anxious in relationships, and their needs aren't being met. Do you feel belittled by family, friends, or relationships? Does it feel like your emotions are running the show but your thoughts are fighting against them? I'd love to hear about it.
My Background and Approach
What's most important to me is how you wish to be treated. I have a background in being not only trauma-informed but feedback informed. This means we collaborate together on what your version of healing means to you! I have quite a few techniques that you get to choose from such as the classic cognitive therapies (CBT, ACT) to the emotional-focused therapy like Internal Family Systems (IFS).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe you have a Self that is curious, compassionate, creative, courageous, calm, and more. This "self" that you are never was - and never will be - damaged by trauma. I believe you have also adopted parts of you that are hypervigilant, filled with sorrow, and have maybe led you to do things you regret. I also believe these parts of you are not bad, but like all people, they deserve to be understood. I also believe that there is little to no inner healing without community healing. It is extremely difficult to pull yourself up by your bootstraps if you do not have any boots. To be chosen to help others in the same way it has been done for me is a tremendous honor. I presently live in Chicago where I seek out community healing and pizza.
