About My Clients

I am passionate about helping others rekindle their motivation, creativity, and assertiveness to improve their quality and enjoyment of life. I work with adolescents, individuals, and couples/co-parents seeking parent coaching. My clients are individuals who want to invest in themselves to build deeper insight and self-compassion. Our work together is collaborative, rooted in science, and offered with care.

My Background and Approach

My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - empirically supported to treat anxiety, stress, and depression - and combined with holistic strategies such as mindfulness. My approach provides practical coping skills while moving beyond cognitive strategies to reach the physical and emotional impact of experiences. When working with children and adolescents I invite parents to participate in parent-coaching sessions. Research shows that parents equipped with tools and understanding to best support their child help maintained their child’s progress. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, certified in brain-based strategies for adolescents, training in Internal Family Systems, and Certified yoga-teacher. I hold two masters degrees, Clinical Counseling and Health Psychology and a second in Organizational Development and Leadership. I am enrolled in a doctoral degree in educational psychology to deepen my understanding of neuroscience and the connection to behavior.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in honoring the courage and compassion that is required to begin therapy. Through my own experiences and clinical expertise I deeply appreciate a clients’s willingness to show up, talk about challenges, and build on that courage to create meaningful change. It is through connection with others that we are able to heal. I encourage building a therapeutic relationship that can be supportive in the difficult times, finds humor, celebrates life’s wins, brings light to self-awareness, and encourages knowledge. I believe that nature, a good cry/laugh, and creativity are healing. Opening my practice was inspired by the book. “Women Who Run With Wolves,” by Clarissa Pinkola Estes. Asena-means mother wolf, and like Clarissa states in her work, “ A healthy woman is much like a wolf: robust, chock-full, strong life force, life-giving, territorially aware, inventive, loyal, roving." Which I hope to embody and encourage my clients to create their own robust fulfilling life.
