About My Clients
One of my specialities is working with parent(s)/caregivers of younger children 0-5 years old, and school-aged children. Over the last several years I have worked with children and families with trauma and attachment concerns. Adults are another population that I feel comfortable working with. People's early experiences and messages can shape how we view ourselves and react to various situations. We will explore and address the negatives and replace with helpful cognitions.
My Background and Approach
I have a strong foundation in working with children and their families. I am a registered play therapist and supervisor - RPT-S, registered Child Parent Psychotherapist (0-5 years of age), EMDR trained, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy trained, etc. Attachment work would be the essence of my basic approach. Life can support and sometimes derail us from what we need of others. Viewing relationships from this approach and guiding people to re-build or build upon their supports is key. Play is a powerful tool to build trust and connection. I use Sand tray work to help bring unconscious feelings into consciousness to realize what someone needs and wants.
