Providing virtual therapy to adolescents and young adults (12-40) with depression, anxiety, and/or chronic medical illness.
Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey
I have worked on identifying and treating depression in children, teens, and adults for most of my career. Depression can be incredibly debilitating, but can also be very treatable with ongoing therapy and at times, medication management. I am confident in my ability to help you find ways to get back some of the happiness you once felt in your life.
Due to spending several years working as a therapist in a medical hospital, I have repeatedly seen the effects of depression and anxiety on someone with a chronic illness and know how much overall improvement can occur when mental health needs are addressed. I have seen how illness affects the family as a whole, what it’s like when you are having difficulties with your medical team, or when you just feel like you can’t take another day of treatments/medications which have taken over your life.
I have over 10+ years of experience working with clients who are navigating adolescence. It is a difficult time, particularly right now with the pandemic and schools being virtual in many areas. Teens are being pulled from their friends and activities, which sometimes are the only outlet for stress that they have. They are missing opportunities they won't be able to get back. I understand the deep hurt these pre-teens/teens are facing and want to validate their experiences.
