Trauma is the sum of many experiences that stem from work, life, family, home, environment, race and more. Trauma is an important area to address and work through because anything that impacts you in a negative way and changes you can be traumatic. Trauma therapy helps to identify the history, symptoms, behaviors, relationships (yes you read this right) and connections made aka attachments. Once you are aware of your historical pattern you can start doing the work to heal with effective tools.
Attachment is the core of everyone's story. Attachment theory addresses your attachment style which helps you understand why you do certain things and why your family does. It helps you understand your relationships better and how to make healthier connections. Attachment theory helps in all types of relationships; Friendships, co-workers, family, intimate partner relationships and parent-child relationships.
I believe that we encounter many challenges in life that can be worked through with solutions. Solutions focused brief therapy is a great approach because it allows me to work with clients and meet their clinical needs quickly. This models sets both the therapist and the client up for success because this treatment is designed to be short-term. This will help clients and therapists have great clinical outcomes because as a therapist I am not here to fix but to offer solutions.
