About My Clients

I have provided individual & family therapy to communities of color, immigrants, & queer & transgender people for over 10 years. I love working with adolescents & adults who have found themselves in relationships that don't feel supportive and/or reciprocal and are seeking ways to shift their ways of relating and connecting. I am passionate about exploring the ways peoples' multiple, intersecting identities impact their mental health and well being.

My Background and Approach

I have extensive experience working with people navigating complex trauma, severe anxiety and depression (including self-harm), attachment-related difficulties, the impacts of community violence, & incarceration. I prioritize being trauma-informed, attachment oriented, and considering how systems of oppression impact individual and community emotional and mental health. I love supporting people in making meaning of their experiences, feeling more connected and seen, and deepening their understanding of their own identities. I enjoy working with people who are open to self-reflection, curiosity, and emotional engagement and see healing as a life-long process. I work from a Relational Psychodynamic approach wherein I believe the clinical relationship is the primary mode of healing. I also integrate Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, which is a somatic approach that supports healing attachment and complex trauma via the body. My approach is warm, thoughtful, and curious.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My approach is warm, thoughtful, and curious. Considering the impacts of individual and structural oppression on the Self and our communities is a fundamental part of my values and reflected in the way I work. I strongly believe in the healing work that can be done in therapy both at an individual level and as a strategy for building power. Individual healing is collective healing and can support our work of transforming the world into a more equitable and just place.
