About My Clients

My clients are relatively new to sobriety and want help solidifying the gains they've made while working on underlying issues, such trauma, depression, anxiety, and interpersonal issues. Learning to live one's life as a sober person is no easy task. It requires developing new coping and communication skills that are usually far outside someone's comfort zone. I'm here to help heal, guide, and support clients during this vulnerable time.

My Background and Approach

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor with over 12 years of experience. I’m non-judgmental and approach my clients with curiosity and warmth. I really listen - to the things you say, the way you say those things, and what you’re not saying. I don't believe in good or bad feelings, nor do I believe in positive or negative coping skills. I believe all of our emotions serve a purpose and all of our coping skills are survival strategies. Our work is to listen to the messages our feelings are conveying and to identify the needs our coping skills are meeting. Healing involves resolving past trauma, understanding and honoring our feelings, and discovering healthy ways to meet our needs. The deepest healing occurs on several levels and I incorporate emotional, cognitive, and somatic therapies into my practice.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe we all have unlimited potential. I believe a therapist's job is to act as a healing guide. I believe therapy is collaboration between client and therapist. I believe in fostering self acceptance and self love. I believe in the power of transformative healing through nature, art, and therapy. I believe in second chances. I believe we need to slow down, rest, and be kind to ourselves. I believe all humans are equal regardless of our gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, size, ability, religion, beliefs or socioeconomic status.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
