EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. EMDR uses a protocol to help you break through your limiting beliefs that were formed from past experiences. Beliefs such as “I’m not good enough” and “I’m unlovable” are processed through bilateral stimulation such as eye movements or tapping. Your brain can then update these experiences which lead to new feelings, emotions, and behaviors. When you are free from the past, you are able to live a healthier present.
Many things factor into why we don't have a good sense of self-esteem. It could have been due to not being nurtured as we should have been as children. CBT teaches us that our thoughts, behaviors, and feelings are all connected. It makes sense, then, to explore our self-talk to find the underlying cause of struggle. Whether it is depression, anxiety, or low self-esteem, when we change what we our thinking and saying to ourselves, we can change our life.
A holistic approach considers the person as mind/body/spirit. Physical symptoms are associated with emotional/mental symptoms and vice versa. Evidence shows that stress is the underlying cause of most chronic health conditions. It makes sense, then, to treat the person holistically.

Anxiety causes alot of uncomfortable physical symptoms, such as a racing heart, not being able to breathe, and an inability to concentrate.
