About My Clients
My clients have mostly had difficult childhoods and lots of trauma. Some have been diagnosed with personality disorders and some have been diagnosed with PTSD, likely because they had to deal with manipulative or toxic individuals in their past. I typically see people that have been traumatized, felt suicidal, want psychodynamic / talk therapy and have been told by others 'they are too complicated'. I also see folks with other mental health issues too.
My Background and Approach
I came out to the PNW to attend Pacific University's PsyD program in Clinical Psychology and here I am today! I am a local now, was born in Europe, grew up in Asia and the South so I have some diverse experience. I am a talk therapist who loves learning and more importantly, being genuine and personal. I have worked in crisis, the community, in hospitals, agencies, private practice and now own a group practice. I want to help you get to the heart of the matter and the root of the problem so insight can change how you live. I am direct and have a dark sense of humor. I am candid and genuine and want you to know yourself better so you can live the life you want. So, lots of schooling and experience (professional and life) but all of that pales in comparison if we are not a good fit. I look forward to talking to you and seeing if I can match you up with one of the therapists at my group practice. I am the owner and their supervisor. I am sorry but I can’t take more clients currently.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe the world is good, that there are lots of good humans out there. I am a coffee drinking Buddhist and believe compassion is the name of every game. People say 'therapy is not a REAL relationship', but I believe it is as important as other relationships. I am eclectic because I grew up in different environments and my beliefs are colored by my experience. While I understand every person is different and has their own unique experience, I want to treat the human in front of me, not the label whatever that might be, although I am interested in those labels and identities. I also believe there are harmful humans out there who have significant trouble with empathy and I want to help others be able to deal with them. I am an ally for others. I believe in the ability to cooperate and transform even if it is really the hardest &#%^! thing you have had to do. I own a group practice and work with 7 clinicians with different interests (LGBTQ+, art therapy, ecotherapy, sports performance)
