About My Clients
My clients find that despite being active in their careers, being an integral part of their loved one's lives, and accomplishing big goals, life can be a struggle. They share that they are doubting their purpose, can't stop thinking about the past, are leaning on alcohol or other substances to cope, or are dealing with so much anxiety that they feel like they aren't living the best version of who they could be... and they're tired of it.
My Background and Approach
Hi there! I am a Brazilian-American Licensed Professional Counselor here to help adults on their therapy journey. Houseplants, hiking, cooking, kayaking, and spending time with loved ones are my passions outside of the therapeutic space. I see the value in creating a safe, affirming, and warm environment for folks. I believe that each person is an expert in their own lives. As such, I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach and pull from several modalities including but not limited to: Brainspotting (Phase I&II), Person-Centered, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing theories. I work collaboratively with folks to process through past trauma, to examine their relationships substances, and to think critically about their lives to address how these lived experiences have shaped their world. Together we can work towards greater self-understanding and towards building greater self-love.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the power of the therapeutic alliance, in the power of the person, in the interplay between the body and mind, and in the sanctity of the client-counselor relationship. It takes so much courage to share in the counseling space! I welcome you to come as you are and work diligently to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for you to engage in self-exploration. I strive empower you through the use of the therapeutic lens to self-examine and work on your goals, while also holding space to address and process through the impact of family, community, and societal injustices on your life.
