About My Clients
Are you tired of struggling? I offer a warm, empathetic, non-judgmental environment for you to begin to heal. I have experience serving different clients from varying backgrounds, experiences, and identities. Special populations that I work with are eating disorders/body image difficulties, mood disorders, and those who have experienced various types of trauma. I can help you sort through and overcome what may be holding you back from living life fully.
My Background and Approach
Everyone's stories and personalities are unique. Individual differences are valued and honored in our work together. I also welcome feedback throughout the therapy process to assure my dedication to your progress. I believe clients have the innate ability to overcome and heal from their struggles and experiential/relational wounds. Early developmental and relational experiences help shape us, for better or for worse, and are thoughtfully explored. Therapy is a journey that I help guide you on. By using an integrative approach, therapy is individually tailored to meet the clients' needs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have extensive training in domestic violence/interpersonal violence and have experience working in a crisis domestic violence shelter as a residential counselor. I also earned a certificate in sexual assault services and served as a volunteer assisting victims. I am passionate about helping survivors overcome this particular type of trauma, break out of dysfunctional relational patterns, and learn to develop self-love. My research involves examining premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), a debilitating and often overlooked illness that up to 5% of cisgender women experience.
