About My Clients

My clients are seeking support navigating personal, familial, and professional relationships. Issues of treatment: childhood sexual abuse, identity acceptance, intergenerational trauma, racial and gender discrimination. Yet, other clients are seeking support in navigating oppressive, homophobic, and transphobic environments and relationships.

My Background and Approach

I provide tools to clients that will help manage difficult situations throughout their lifespan. Through an intimate professional relationship clients gain self-awareness leading to positive relationships with others. I provide a space to discuss and process the traumatic effects of racism, transphobia, xenophobia, misogyny, classism along with other aspects of oppression that persons of underrepresented groups and communities of color experience on a daily basis. I take into account interpersonal, historical, intergenerational and collective trauma and its effects on the psyche. My approach to care is culturally humble and responsive, trans-affirmative, respectful and jovial.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that mental health access should be readily available especially for people of color. For example, I often hear how difficult it is to find trans-affirming therapists of color so I want to be part of the solution and work towards facilitating that process. Based on my research on the experiences of people of color in psychotherapy I learned the importance of not only talking about identity or race but to look at the intersection of the two on mental health. I don't want clients to feel they have to settle. I believe strongly in advocating for people who live in the shadows and work in underground economies and who want more out of life. I believe in research with PoC communities to increase representation and visibility to positively impact policy and practice. My personal experience as an immigrant and PoC informs every aspect of my daily life.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
