About My Clients
I am passionate about working with teens and young adults, helping them with the transition into adulthood as well as maneuver the challenges that they face personally and the influences of modern society and social media. I also believe that family dynamics, relationships, and family systems play an important role in how young people develop, so I feel strongly about giving parents the tools to best support a healthy relationship with their children.
My Background and Approach
When working as a school counselor, I often use a solution focused style of counseling. I also believe Cognitive Behavioral Therapy can help people to identify beliefs and cognitive distortions and subsequently identify what influence their thoughts and beliefs have on their lives. Ultimately, I will use discussion and education about techniques and the client’s needs to help drive therapy. This can empower the client with tools and techniques that they can apply outside of the therapy session.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that every person can benefit from counseling and although everyone has unique circumstances and factors that influence outcomes in their lives, there are universal commonalities that connect us all and help us understand each other. I have a strong faith and believe in a higher power that plays a role in our lives.
