The goal of solution-focused brief therapy is to help people imagine the future they want to create and then create a series of realistic steps to help them get there. As the name implies, solution-focused brief therapy focuses on finding solutions to problems rather than focusing on the problems themselves.
Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy which tries to identify and change negative thinking patterns and pushes for positive behavioral changes.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapeutic treatment that helps patients understand the thoughts and feelings that influence behaviors. CBT is commonly used to treat a wide range of disorders, including phobias, addictions, depression, and anxiety.
I have extensive experience working with individuals on feelings of hopelessness, sadness, low energy and suicidal ideation that comes with depression. My view is this, "Depression is when people focus more on the past than the present." I can help resolve your past issues & bring you to the present moment.
I have both personal and professional experience with anxiety. To me anxiety represents when people are more focused and worried about their future, and are not paying attention to their present. This is my main area of expertise and I am both self taught and book educated on the topic. I help people move through their anxiety using both CBT & DBT, as well as teaching to focus on the present moment.
