About My Clients

We all come to therapy for different reasons. You may be coping with the impact of large-scale events, a big life transition, or something else that’s been on your mind or showing up in your body. I'm passionate about collaborating with clients who are looking for help coping with trauma, exploring their identities, or working on how they show up in relationships. I work best with those who are willing to go deep, integrate the body, and tend to the things they have been unconsciously avoiding.

My Background and Approach

Our bodies come to therapy, too. By integrating somatic experiences with thoughts and feelings, we can open ourselves up to the wealth of information our bodies hold. If you’ve experienced trauma, I will honor the strategies you have used to take care of yourself up until now, and help you let go of those that are no longer serving you. We can develop new methods of grounding and healing that will allow you to feel more embodied, safe, and secure in the present. Similarly, if you are experiencing difficulties in personal relationships or looking to explore some aspect of your identity, I am here to aid in both careful reflection and, where relevant, intentional action. I often incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, Attachment Theory, and Narrative Therapy into my work; though I always adapt my approach to the client in front of me.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I strongly believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and like to remind clients that we are collaborators in the process. I show up as my authentic self to avoid creating clinical distance between myself and my clients. As a queer, non-binary person myself I know how important therapy can be for safely exploring your identities in a world that often misunderstands, erases, or rejects them. Whether you and I share certain identities or not, I never assume that I know your experience better than you do. I strive to practice from a framework of anti-racism, abolition, and disability justice. Throughout our work together, I will prioritize incorporating your feedback to make therapy as fruitful as possible for you. If all this sounds like something you’re looking for, please feel free to reach out to schedule a brief consultation!
