About My Clients
My main clinical focuses include ADHD, trauma, anxiety and personal histories of authoritarian control and undue influence. Many of the young adults who see me struggle with chronic stress, have difficulties with meeting their goals in life, and feel trapped in their own minds. I am here to help those individuals understand why they make sense as well as how to trust and take care of their brains again.
My Background and Approach
I went to The Ohio State University for my undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Sciences and my master's degree is from Ashland Theological Seminary in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have continuing education credits in motivational interviewing, professional ethics and boundaries, addictive technology, and biblical counseling. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy in my practice. These approaches help individuals to challenge and replace dysfunctional thought patterns, beliefs and behaviors that they have, accept the things that cannot change in their lives, commit to a lifestyle that reflects their personal values, and cope with overwhelming emotions.
