"Small is all" (adrienne maree brown) means our ability to engage in larger-scale healing starts with us as individuals.
Clinical Social Worker in Southfield, MI
So much of what we experience in life is navigating shifts, transitions, changes, and adjustments. Working in this liminal space or the in-betweens and moving toward (or envisioning, or being curious about change) moments captures a lot of the work I have done and the [mental/emotional/logistical] spaces I have met clients in.
Throughout my career I have worked with trauma in in-patient and out-patient hospital settings, a sexual assault crisis hotline, suicide prevention, opioid safety, and private practice. Trauma fundamentally rewires our brain and shapes the way we see and experience the world. I have a passion and extensive training in different crisis response, as well as longer-term processing. Trauma can have a huge impact on who you are, and it does not entirely define who you are.
I have experience working with trans* and cisgender clients across the spectrum in working to understand and navigate transition, access gender-affirming healthcare, processing internalized beliefs and negative experiences related to their gender and/or sexual identity; as well as other mental health concerns or distress.
