You don't realize it, but it is the act of pointing the finger which fuels the flame of your burning relationship. Things are on fire, so you try to douse the flame even more, by finding the problem and attempting to fix it ASAP. Unfortunately to your partner, it seems like it's ALWAYS their fault. Couples therapy is about taking accountability regardless of what your partner does.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in couples therapy. My experience is 4 years as a therapist. I have formal training in Internal Family Systems (Level 1). My own personal experience meditating helps me regulate myself so I can show up for you in high conflict situations and help your voice get heard. I am authoritative and directive when I'm your couples therapist. I will shine the light on you when you're trying to point the finger at your partner. You will be forced to look into yourself and change your state of being, being a role model for your partner into how they can change theirs. My relentless focus on taking accountability FIRST and owning up to your faults, without justifying your actions, is what will help you transform your relationship rapidly. My couples actively work on therapy outside of the session and learn how to regulate their own emotional states. They develop as people and seek to uphold a moral standard for their own behavior.
