About My Clients
A little about myself and my work!... I have extensive work with LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples, polyamory, consensual non monogamy, out of control sexual behavior, kink, and many other sex related issues. I believe my clients are the expert in their own lives and are inherently strong. I am dedicated to providing hope and practical tools to help clients going through any major life transitions. I strive to help individuals and couples reconnect with themselves and one another.
My Background and Approach
I am a AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Denver, Colorado. Additionally, I received my certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy at Denver Family Institute where I worked extensively with couples, individuals, and families on damaging relationship patterns, co-parenting skills, strengthening emotional connections, and communication skills. I use a number of different stylistic approaches in the therapy room tailored to what my clients need. Some of these approaches are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative, Structural, Strategic, Solution- Focused, Emotionally Focused Therapy, PACT, and IMAGO dialogue. I am collaborative, integrative, direct and experiential in the work I do. I meet my clients where they are at in their journey and together, we work from there. I also love to bring in mindfulness, somatic, and grounding techniques. I aim to look at all situations from a sex positive, non-shaming, and non-judgmental lens.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Many of us grew up in a society, a culture, or a family home where communications around sex and identity were not allowed or were ignored completely. Discussions around sex and sexuality have too often been shamed resulting in a large number of individuals left with no understanding on how to communicate about sex or feeling shame around identity and sexual palettes. My desire and universal belief is that everyone should feel empowered to communicate our needs to our partners, feel authentic in who we are, and feel no shame in what pleasures us. I went to law school to advocate more for LGBTQ+ rights and learn about the legal struggles this community and particularly the trans community faces. I identify as a queer and Latina.
