About My Clients

Have you experienced hardship that still affects you today? If your past seems to follow you around, control your emotions, weaken your relationships, and reinforce the same old patterns, I can help. I work with people who have experienced varying degrees of trauma throughout their lives, from breakups, interpersonal conflicts, and job stress, to the death of one or more loved ones, accidents, violence, abuse, and incarceration—and everything in between.

My Background and Approach

I'll use a collaborative, person-centered, and strengths-based approach to help you become a more mindful, self-aware, self-compassionate, and resilient version of yourself. I have a Master of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from Portland State University, a dual track program in clinical mental health counseling and rehabilitation counseling. I'm a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), which means I have specific education, experience, and training in disability and chronic illness. I'm also a National Certified Counselor. I'm currently training in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and Lifespan Integration, two trauma therapies that can help you process your trauma with less risk of retraumatization.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe we all have the ability to become “better” without inherently changing who we are. Sometimes we get stuck, experience something traumatic, or lose an ability, identity, or relationship, and need the help of an outside observer to get back on track. I'm passionate about working with all kinds of people. I have specialty experience working with the intersection of trauma and disability. I also have experience and interest working with people of color and/or culture, the LGBTQ population, and people who were previously incarcerated.
