About My Clients
I work with children, teens, adults, and families. My goal is to help you unearth your potential and create a life that brings you joy. Whether you are an adult in need of support with healing and growth or you have a child in need of help through difficult life circumstances; I welcome the opportunity to work with you. I honor the uniqueness of each individual that I work with, and collaborate with my clients to design treatment that is best for their lifestyle and preferences.
My Background and Approach
My work is based in mindfulness, acceptance, and action. I believe in each person’s innate wisdom, and the right we each have to create our own path. This means that you will be actively involved in creating your treatment and goals with me. Many people find they are more comfortable outdoors, and that movement helps the process. I offer a variety of therapy solutions such as nature therapy, walk and talk therapy, and equine therapy. I welcome the chance to collaboratively implement a treatment plan with you to help you build your best life. Equine therapy incorporates horses into the counseling process. Therapy with horses can help with many struggles, including trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and self esteem issues. No experience with horses is necessary. Most of the work is done on the ground, and riding is not typically a part of the process. Teenagers and college aged clients especially seem to find equine therapy more accessible and engaging than traditional counseling.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I've always been a bit of a rebel, and like to do things differently. I believe this translates well into my counseling approach, as I offer outside the box methods such as nature counseling and equine therapy alongside traditional therapies. I hold space to deeply honor each client's true self. My goal is to help you shine in the ways that you want to - not as others want you to be. I will encourage you to get to know yourself more intimately, and to become more like who you truly are. My work reflects many loves of my life – nature, horses, relationships, and health. I am a fan of camping and adventuring with my family. Also, meditating, yoga, horseback riding, and hanging with my dog, Wilson. I received my first and second degree Reiki attunements and certifications in Usui tradition. As a member of Boulder County’s Mounted Search and Rescue team, I am CPR and First Aid trained. I feel fulfilled within my life, and I would be honored to help you create your best life.
