About My Clients
I work closely with children and adolescents, families, and couples who have experienced trauma. I view being a therapist as the passenger in a car in charge of the GPS, guiding clients to emotions, thoughts, and actions beneficial to their well-being. I practice active listening to help determine what therapy methods will be most effective for my clients. The client is in the driver’s seat, though, and ultimately determines the therapy method.
My Background and Approach
I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies from The Pennsylvania State University. I am currently at New York University working toward my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. My experience as a behavioral health worker at a Philadelphia elementary school has prepared me for working with clients who may have difficulties verbalizing or identifying feelings. Along with my internship here at The Better You Institute, I work with foster and kinship parents providing a range of resources to support placement stability and permanency and ensure ongoing compliance with home certification standards.
