About My Clients

My experience centers on working with adults on presenting issues like mood disorders, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, and anger management. My collaborative approach aims to make space for, support, and work with your understanding of your strengths, challenges, values, and identity. I work primarily with members of the LGBTQIA+ community and combine the acknowledgement of societal forces with personal understanding and growth.

My Background and Approach

Whether managing short-term or long-term stress, I value making a space for clients to take a moment to stop, step back from what they're doing and take a look from the outside. In a comfortable space with a supportive therapeutic relationship, clients can best understand themselves and disentangle the challenges of daily life. With that understanding, I believe in helping clients identify what defines them as an individual, and how to best fulfill the things in life that are important to them. I also value awareness of identities relating to culture, ethnicity, gender and sex, and how they affect clients' values and goals.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I hold a firm belief that not only is an individual’s inner experience important to understand, but that person’s context on a systemic level should be validated and factored into their therapeutic work in order to have an accurate picture of the challenges they are navigating. This is also a value and belief I strive to maintain in my clinical work as well. I hold this in mind when working with clients regarding their gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, ability, and other factors. I value therapy as a processing space where clients’ external contexts and inner worlds are illuminated, and upon exploring these things, the challenges to navigate and skills to do so make more sense.
